Engineered flooring is a natural timber alternative to solid timber flooring. 

The board is made up of a plywood base which can vary in thickness from 5mm to 14mm allowing the board to then have a topping layer of the natural timber of your choice. The most common species are oak or hardwood. 

The main benefit of using engineered floorboards is due to the plywood base you’re able to install a much wider board with less chance of cupping. 

The boards come pre-finished so there is no need to sand or seal once installed. The thickness of the topping layer will determine how many sands you can get out of the boards over their lifetime.
